The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is hosting an international conference in commemoration of its 100 year anniversary, which will connect, strengthen, and celebrate the work of women peacemakers across the world.  A wide breadth of civil society individuals and organisational representatives will attend, including Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee, Radhika Coomaraswamy, and many more.

When:
27/04/2015 - 10:30 to 29/04/2015 - 18:00
Where:

World Forum in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The Conference takes place exactly 100 years after WILPF’s 1,300 founding women first came together in The Hague to unite powers and protest the horrors of World War I. Today, 100 years after the first WILPF Conference, women’s voices and experiences are still excluded in the peace talks, bringing continued violence and war. We know now what we knew then, that only when we analyse conflict from a gender perspective, integrating disarmament, human rights, the environment, social justice, and the women, peace and security agenda holistically will we be able to eradicate the root causes of conflict.
