Over 5,000 civilians have been killed in Yemen, where a military campaign led by Saudi Arabia seeks to drive Iranian-backed Houthi rebels from power and to restore President Hadi to power. As the ground and air campaign escalates, and with the country drawing nearer to total collapse, we explore the main scenarios for Yemen and the wider Arabian Peninsula.

Isa Blumi is Associate Professor of History and Middle East Studies at Georgia State University. The author of Chaos in Yemen: Societal Collapse and the New Authoritarianism, he studies societies in the throes of social, economic, and political transformation.
